    Die Leistung dieses Quellenbandes ist es, die Weimarer Republik als eigene Epoche, "in der Entwicklungen ihren Anfang nahmen, die sich nach 1945 bis in die Gegenwart fortsetzten" (Einleitung), darzustellen. Die vom Autor (Historiker, Publizist) vorgenommene Quellenauswahl zeichnet deshalb nicht nur die politisch-gesellschaftliche, sondern ebenso die wirtschaftlich-technische (Kommunikation, Transport) und die kulturelle (Architektur, Design, Film) Entwicklung nach. In den Zwischentexten werden Standpunkte aktueller historischer Kontroversen nicht ausgeblendet. Obwohl Lesebuchcharakter, und damit gewinnbringend für historisch Interessierte, zielt der Band primär auf Rezipienten eines multiperspektivischen Geschichtsunterrichts der Sekundarstufe. Nur geringe Überschneidung mit "Deutsche Geschichte 1918-1933. Dokumente zur Innen- und Außenpolitik" (vgl. BA 2/03). Viele Illustrationen; Auswahlbibliografie. (2 S) (LK/F: Dankert)
